Luxury + Love in the City: Our Parents-Only Escape at The Glenn Hotel Atlanta
Kid-Free in the City: The Ultimate Parent Getaway in Atlanta
This month, my husband and I celebrated 11 years of marriage —
and for the first time in a long time, we took a road trip just for us.
We packed up, left the Florida heat behind, and headed to Atlanta for a weekend filled with love,
and the kind of magic that only happens when you step away from the everyday
and remember what makes you you.
Our Stay: The Glen Hotel, Atlanta
We stayed at the Glen Hotel and let me just say — this place was everything.
From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into modern elegance with southern charm.
Every corner was thoughtfully decorated, and there was this beautiful warmth to the entire space.
But the real gem? The SkyLounge rooftop. With its stunning city views, a live DJ,
and cozy balcony seating, it instantly became our favorite spot.
Even though I can’t drink because of my lupus, the bartenders were amazing
and whipped up some of the best mocktails I’ve ever had.
We sat under the stars, mocktails in hand,
soaking in the skyline and that deep feeling of just being together.
The Location Was Everything
One of the best parts about The Glen Hotel is how close it is to everything — literally. We were just two blocks from the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola,
and only one block away from Centennial Olympic Park and that giant Ferris wheel (whose real name I totally forgot, but it was cute and photo-worthy!). It’s the Skyview Atlanta after googling it LOL.
The Food: A Hidden Gem Inside the Hotel
Lunch at the Glen Hotel Autograph Collection in Atlanta, Georgia. Deviled eggs with chicken wings, hush puppies and a large cobb salad.
Let’s talk food — because The Glen’s kitchen delivered hard. We had lunch there on Saturday, and I was blown away. Living near Disney World in Florida, we’re used to small portions and high prices. But here? The food was generously portioned, beautifully plated, and fairly priced. It felt like a real meal — hearty, comforting, and delicious. The Deviled eggs were so delicious and topped with a sweet and savory bacon jam, we also had the chicken wings, and the jalapeno hush puppies, and my husband had a large Cobb salad.
Exploring Downtown Atlanta
El Vinedo Local
The rest of our weekend was filled with exploring the downtown streets, walks through the city,
and capturing memories in downtown Atlanta.
One of our favorite stops was a cozy cafe called El Vinedo Local —
a Spanish small plates spot right in the heart of the city.
Their teas, coffees, and breakfast dishes were top-tier
and made for the perfect slow morning moment. We both had a Desayuno
Criollo plate which had braised beef, sweet plantains, beans, mini arepas and avocado.
I also had the lightest and fluffiest guava pastry. I’m telling you the pastries were so decadent
and light I was obsessed.
The Georgia Aquarium: A Shared Passion
Let me start off by saying this originally started off as a surprise trip. The Georgia Aquarium —
was on my husband’s bucket list forever. So what better way to surprise him with the deep diver behind-the-scenes tour! We soaked up everything we could. It was not only an incredible experiencebut also the perfect opportunity to create content for my husband’s business.
Seeing him in his element, surrounded by aquatic life
and geeking out over coral systems and fish species, was a whole vibe.
Dinner at CUTS Steakhouse
Cuts Steakhouse
We wrapped up our adventure with a romantic dinner at CUTS Steakhouse, and it was chef’s kiss.
The food was perfectly seasoned, the service was attentive, and every bite felt like a celebration.
From start to finish, it was top-tier — no notes, no complaints, just a full heart and a very full belly.
Final Thoughts
This trip was so much more than just a getaway. It was a reminder that we’re not just parents, business owners, or partners in the grind — we’re two people deeply in love, still growing, still laughing, and still choosing each other.
If you’re thinking about planning a trip to Atlanta — whether it’s for love, adventure, or just a change of scenery — I can’t recommend The Glen Hotel enough. And if you need someone to document your next couple’s escape, I know a girl.
With love,
Yeri
